Summer Feet: A Soothing Foot Scrub

It's time to kick off your boots and strap on your sandals. However with the rising cost of pedicures the thought of this will make most moms sweat. But don't worry! I've got you! With a few fabulous products and a few simple steps, your feet will be sandal ready in no time.

Let's do this:

Step 1: Exfoliate Your Way to Softness
First we want to exfoliate the winter callouses. This process feels amazing, actually tickles and smells like a piece of heaven. So gather these ingredients and get ready to make a year's worth of Sugar Scrub!

DIY Sugar Scrub Recipe:
Ingredients:
  • ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex
  • 5 drops Bergamot essential oil
  • 3 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops Frankincense
  • 2 drops Wintergreen essential oil
  • ¾ cup raw sugar

Please let me know you used this tab.

Instructions:
  1. Mix V-6 with essential oils in a bowl.
  2. Add sugar and blend until smooth.
  3. Apply onto wet feet, massage gently, and rinse off.
Step 2: TLC for Your Cuticles

Soften those cuticles in the comfort of your own home with a warm shower or soak. Remember, it's all about care, not cutting. Treat yourself to a DIY cuticle treatment for the perfect pedicure prep.

DIY Cuticle Treatment:

Ingredients:
  • 15 ml V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex
  • 20 drops Tea Tree essential oil (Tea Tree is very cleansing and is great to ward off fungus)
Instructions:
  1. Fill a 15 ml bottle halfway with V-6.
  2. Add 20 drops of Tea Tree oil.
  3. Top up the bottle with more V-6.
  4. Apply a drop to each cuticle and massage in.
Step 3: Moisturize for Silky-Smooth Feet

You've pampered and scrubbed—now it's time to seal in that moisture. I prefer my homemade body butter. It seals in moisture, supports my immune system with essential oils and smells great. Lotions with fragrance will dry out your skin and disrupt your hormones, so avoid toxic lotions. Here's the link to my body butter recipe: DIY Body Butter

Final Thoughts:

You work hard for your family! Enjoy this process and don't feel guilty about taking the time to pamper yourself.

In fact, gather your daughter and teach her to take care of her feet too! You'll make memories that will last a life time and you'll also teach your daughter the valuable lesson of self care.

WELL, HELLO!

Hi Friend!

I’m Terri Bonin—wife to my favorite dentist (who keeps me smiling in more ways than one!) and mama to eleven incredible kiddos… yep, on purpose! Now, they’re growing up, getting married, and multiplying, so our family is basically the size of a small town!

I’ve homeschooled for over 25 years (with several more to go until our youngest, who’s eleven, graduates). I was crunchy before it was cool and slathering essential oils on my kids before they were a thing. Around here, I share mom hacks, marriage wisdom, wellness tips, and real-life glimpses into our beautifully chaotic, laughter-filled home.

I hope you find this space happy, helpful, and relatable! And if you love good conversations, come hang out with me on my podcast, "Terri Bonin At Home", where we chat about building a strong family culture, natural remedies, and navigating the wonderful (and sometimes wild) world of marriage and motherhood.

Let’s do life together—one drop, one laugh, and one lesson at a time!
