Tired Adrenals? Here’s How I’m Rebuilding My Energy (and How You Can Too!)

Hey friend,
Confession time: I’m a drinker. 😜
Not that kind of drinker—I’m a beverage girlie through and through. If it comes in a cute cup and has a wellness angle, I’m all in.
Here’s my current rotation:
  • ☕️ Dose coffee
  • 🫐 NingXia Red
  • ✨ Sparkling water
  • 💧 LMNT electrolytes
  • 💪 AminoWise
  • 🍵 Herbal tea
But here’s the thing—I’m not just sipping for fun. I drink with a purpose. Lately, I’ve been focused on two major health goals:
👉 Balancing my blood sugar
👉 Nourishing my adrenal glands
And guess what? Most of us have hidden adrenal and glucose imbalances without even realizing it.

How I Found Out My Adrenals Were Depleted

Recently, I took an HTMA test (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis), and the results floored me.
My adrenals? Completely waving the white flag. 🚩
The thing I love about HTMA is that it can reveal imbalances before symptoms show up. That’s pure gold when you’re trying to avoid burnout instead of crash-landing into it.
My daughter (an amazing Nutritional Therapy Practitioner) was the one who ran my test. She looked at me and said:
“Mom… it’s time to take your adrenal health seriously.”
So here I am. Obediently (and a little dramatically 😅) doing exactly that.
Because here’s the truth:
Tired adrenals = tired YOU.
Low energy, brain fog, a short fuse, zero creativity… not the vibe we’re going for.

Why Adrenal Health Matters

Your adrenal glands are tiny powerhouses that sit above your kidneys. They’re responsible for producing hormones that regulate:
  • Energy levels
  • Stress response (hello, cortisol!)
  • Blood sugar balance
  • Mood and focus
When they’re depleted, you feel it in every corner of your life. Supporting adrenal health is one of the best gifts you can give your body—and your people.

My Simple Adrenal Recovery Plan

The good news? Adrenal support doesn’t have to be complicated. Here’s what I’m doing right now:

🧪 Step One: Sip AminoWise

AminoWise = amino acids + antioxidants + minerals → the perfect combo for adrenal recovery and hydration.
(Pro tip: pour it into your Stanley cup and sip throughout the day!)

🌿 Step Two: Support with Essential Oils

These are my go-to oils for adrenal TLC:
  • Nutmeg – Known as the “adrenal oil.” Dilute and apply over your lower back (kidney area).
  • En-R-Gee – Formulated for adrenal support. Rub over adrenals before bed.
  • Basil – Emotionally grounding and stress-supportive.
  • Rosemary – Energizing and sharpens mental clarity.
  • EndoFlex – My endocrine system BFF. Apply to perfume points daily.

🧘‍♀️ Bonus Lifestyle Habits

  • Avoid junk food & excessive caffeine
  • Prioritize consistent sleep
  • Breathe, rest, and take mental breaks

Don’t Let Tired Adrenals Steal Your Sparkle

Friend, if you’ve been dragging through your days with low energy, brain fog, or short patience, it might be your adrenals calling out for help.
You are worth the replenishment. 💛

WELL, HELLO!

Hi Friend!

I’m Terri Bonin—wife to my favorite dentist (who keeps me smiling in more ways than one!) and mama to eleven incredible kiddos… yep, on purpose! Now, they’re growing up, getting married, and multiplying, so our family is basically the size of a small town!

I’ve homeschooled for over 25 years (with several more to go until our youngest, who’s eleven, graduates). I was crunchy before it was cool and slathering essential oils on my kids before they were a thing. Around here, I share mom hacks, marriage wisdom, wellness tips, and real-life glimpses into our beautifully chaotic, laughter-filled home.

I hope you find this space happy, helpful, and relatable! And if you love good conversations, come hang out with me on my podcast, "Terri Bonin At Home", where we chat about building a strong family culture, natural remedies, and navigating the wonderful (and sometimes wild) world of marriage and motherhood.

Let’s do life together—one drop, one laugh, and one lesson at a time!
