🌟 How to Clean a Soiled Mattress 🌟

Hey Friend! We all know that accidents happen, especially with little ones. If your child's mattress has been soiled, don't worry—I've got a quick and natural solution for you! ☀️

Step-by-Step Guide:
  1. Remove Bedding: Start by removing all bedding and wash them separately.
  2. Blot the Area: Use a clean cloth to blot up as much liquid as possible. Avoid rubbing, as this can push the stain further into the mattress.
  3. Prepare Thieves Solution: Mix Thieves Household Cleaner (This is a non toxic cleaner that will take care of nasty germs) with water in a spray bottle (follow the instructions on the bottle for the right ratio).
  4. Spray the Mattress: Generously spray the soiled area with the Thieves solution. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the cleaner to work its magic.
  5. Blot Again: After letting it sit, blot the area with a clean cloth to remove the cleaner and any remaining stains.
  6. Sun Bleaching: If possible, take the mattress outside to a sunny spot. The sun's UV rays act as a natural bleach, helping to disinfect and lighten any remaining stains. Leave it out for a few hours, flipping it occasionally if needed.
  7. Final Check: After sun bleaching, bring the mattress back inside and let it air dry completely. Use a fan if necessary to speed up the drying process.
  8. Optional: For added freshness, sprinkle some baking soda on the mattress once it's dry. Let it sit for a few hours, then vacuum it up.
And there you have it! A fresh and clean mattress, ready for more bedtime stories and sweet dreams.

That was HOW to clean a mattress.. Now let's talk about how to handle it in your mind because these gross tasks can feel frustrating sometimes.

Switch your frustrating thoughts for thoughts of gratitude for the child you get to raise.

Gratitude ENERGIZES! Frustration drains!

Stomach viruses are no fun. Nighttime pee pee accidents stink… literally.

But these are opportunities for us to practice gratitude, and show our children how valued they are regardless of their accidents.

When a child has an accident and makes mess, this is NOT the time to start correcting and instructing!

It’s the time to simply love.

I see you mama. I’ve spent many sleepless nights with children, too.

I’ve got almost a dozen kids!

I know what it is to be sleep deprived and to feel like a laundry maid.

But..I invite you feel gratitude during these years.

Gratitude will give you energy and make room for laughter during your exhaustion. I see you, mama.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
